The Flaming Lips: At War With the Mystics
Just thought I'd let you know that the new Flaming Lips album, At War With the Mystics is an amazing album. I wish I could say the same for the new Secret Machines and the final Grandaddy album. They are both subpar in my opinion.
Posted by Matt Niemi at February 21, 2006 11:55 AMtotally agree with you on Grandaddy. I was hoping they would go out in a blaze of glory. I really got sick of hearing "meow". Flaming Lips is good on first listen.

Posted by: larry at February 21, 2006 8:45 PMi think spending a lot of time with beck has influenced the lips a bit. and they're dabbling a bit in some pseudo 70s funk sounds. i like mystics so far -- perhaps even better than yoshimi -- but it's not nearly as good as soft bulletin (but what is?).
