Stephen Malkmus for Sears

I just saw a Sears commercial that used Stephen Malkmus' song "Phantasies." It was very odd. Not nearly as odd as Hummer using Ratatat in one of their commercials last year.

I really believe it may be time for an intervention. Matt's so burnt all he does is watch television waiting for the next indie rock song to appear in a commercial. I hear the call for help Matthew, Jesus hears your call for help Matthew.

ok, indie boys. big corporate interests don't "use" indie rock, indie rock sells its music to these people. while fully con$ciou$.

When I hear indie rock, I want to buy appliances.

We love buying companies. We love buying coke. A Cola.

No really, what good would come to you for turning down 100K to keep "Shenango River Side Blues" in the underbelly of the Sharpesville bar scene?

By the way, "Where the trees at?" is selling the '06 Land Rover this winter.

Then Uncle Yunkie came over....

Dear Zpa,
We give you permission to take the day off from being an asshole, we all need a break.
Sincerely,

Corp. Int.

It seems like everywhere I turn I see this damn commercial!! I understand that Steph's got a wife & kid now, but why does he have to sell a GOOD song to a LAME company like Sears (Where America Slops). Next I suppose he'll be using Pavement tunes for the next Ty Pennington Home line... How lame. How sad.

I like Craftsman tools. I like Sears. The only hitch is I like Pavement more than I like Stephen Malkmus. He's getting too old to be that goofy.

speaking of malkmus in sears, i heard "cut your hair" in the gap. what a shock that was.
