Nepotistic Filmmaking

Sahara, the soon to be released film based on a Clive Cussler novel is being distributed by Disney. Not so surprisingly, the film is the directed by Breck Eisner who is the son of Disney CEO Michael Eisner. In addition to the director's relationship to Michael Eisner, Clive Cussler's daughter Dayna stars in the film. Not sure how much face time she'll get along side Hollywood heavyweights like Matthew McConaughey and Penelope Cruz, but she's probably happy with the work.

Sahara enjoyed a nice Super Bowl commercial spot, but this film is sure to be a horrible mess. Clive Cussler has already distanced himself from this project and the choice of Breck Eisner who has minimal directing creditials has come under fire. I'm sure this will make an excellent entry into the Bad Movie Monday archives.
